Hola, SWS Families,
Happy summer! We hope all of you are staying healthy and safe with your families during this unique and challenging time. We’ve been glad to welcome back many students at the Skillman and Grand campuses this summer as we discover the “new normal” of childcare and elementary education in the world of COVID-19. The community’s health and safety remain our priorities as we have taken slow, cautious steps to re-open.
As the COVID-19 situation continues to develop, we know that many of you are wondering what will happen during the 2020-21 school year. Rest assured that we continue to monitor the situation and follow guidelines established by local, state and federal authorities. We remain in close contact with science and health professionals within the SWS community for support, and we are in frequent communication with other private schools and daycare centers as they face the same challenges. We have implemented new safety protocols per CDC recommendations at the campuses this summer and are grateful for everyone’s understanding and cooperation to keep the community as safe as possible.
Given the continually-changing circumstances, we will be moving forward to ensure a safe, successful opening for the 2020-21 school year, with the understanding that ny decisions made will require flexibility should the public health reality dictate adjustments or revisions. Please note that, as of now, we are planning to open on August 17, 2020, at the Skillman, Haskell and Grand locations with strict CDC-recommended health and safety protocols in place. We are also researching and creating contingency plans in case we are unable to open per local, state or federal mandates. We will be in touch throughout the month of July with school-wide and campus-specific information. Please keep an eye on your mailboxes for information from each school.
